
My lifelong dream was to go to Spain I am not really sure why, but I felt completely at home there. Fulfilling my dream to go to Granada and visit the Alhambra. Travelling from Barcelona to Granada to Madrid and Toledo and flying out to England and the next leg of the journey.

The Cafe culture on Spain is wonderful. I can honestly way the experience of eating out on streets of Spain was amazingly liberating. As a woman venturing out aloneI felt part of the scene every time.

I love the symmetry of the palm line promenade and the stone balls with the thinking figure. The thinking figure is a question mark and the row of figures in distance is the future possibilities depending on the answer to the question.

Verdant green seem to hang suspended from the mighty sandstone battlements of the Alhambra intensifying the grandeur of the architecture beyond.

The fascinating city of Granada with its geographical location intrigue by many cultures. They came they conquered, they stayed.

Strategically is at the end of a narrow valley making it easily captured and history has shown that all cultures have taken possession through its past.

On the way to the town centre long Cuesta del Rey Chico from the Alhambra Palace the 'every day 'washing is a beautiful reality against the white washed walls of this ancient city.

Ingenious engineering hydraulic pumping system diverts the Darro River water to to the Generallife Gardens of the Alhambra it run sfreely in aqueducts and drains down the mountain side through the Alhambra Gardens. Water can be heard everywhere.

Along terraces across the hillside are the the Generallife Gardens. A maze of levels make it mesmerising and hard to take in the complex system of gardens and terraces.

Spaniards love getting together in public places and celebrating life and here in Madrid it was especially apparent. I loved it.
